Federated States of Micronesia’s trade rose to $13,263,675 through March

Federated States of Micronesia’s trade with the United States rose to $13,263,675 through the first three months of 2012, according to a WorldCity analysis of latest U.S. Census Bureau data. That’s 11.67 percent above its total trade during the same time period last year. Federated States of Micronesia’s exports increased 12.06 percent while imports rose 2.87 percent. The U.S. surplus with Federated States of Micronesia was $12,231,921.

Through March, Federated States of Micronesia’s top U.S. Customs districts for total imports and exports were No. 1 San Francisco, No. 2 Los Angeles, No. 3 Low Value Shipments, No. 4 Laredo and No. 5 Honolulu compared to last year when the top spots were held by No. 1 San Francisco, No. 2 Los Angeles, No. 3 Low Value Shipments, No. 4 Honolulu and No. 5 Laredo. In the current time period, the top five accounted for 12.58 percent of Federated States of Micronesia’s U.S. trade.. That compares to 0.81 percent for the nation’s top five Customs districts during the same time period.
