Pakistan’s trade rose to $1,252,583,817 through March
Pakistan’s trade with the United States rose to $1,252,583,817 through the first three months of 2012, according to a WorldCity analysis of latest U.S. Census Bureau data. That’s -19.20 percent below its total trade during the same time period last year. Pakistan’s exports decreased -37.70 percent while imports dropped -5.20 percent. The U.S. deficit with Pakistan was $420,626,375.
Through March, Pakistan’s top U.S. Customs districts for total imports and exports were No. 1 New York City, No. 2 Los Angeles, No. 3 Atlanta/Savannah, No. 4 Charleston and No. 5 Norfolk compared to last year when the top spots were held by No. 1 New York City, No. 2 Charleston, No. 3 Atlanta/Savannah, No. 4 Los Angeles and No. 5 Houston. In the current time period, the top five accounted for 52.56 percent of Pakistan’s U.S. trade.. That compares to 88.80 percent for the nation’s top five Customs districts during the same time period.Taking a closer look at the leading U.S. gateways for U.S. trade with Pakistan,:
