Timor-Leste’s trade rose to $337,159 through March

Timor-Leste’s trade with the United States rose to $337,159 through the first three months of 2012, according to a WorldCity analysis of latest U.S. Census Bureau data. That’s -67.82 percent below its total trade during the same time period last year. Timor-Leste’s exports decreased -67.77 percent while imports dropped -100.00 percent. The U.S. surplus with Timor-Leste was $337,159.

Through March, Timor-Leste’s top U.S. Customs districts for total imports and exports were No. 1 New York City, No. 2 Los Angeles, No. 3 New Orleans, No. 4 Atlanta/Savannah and No. 5 Cleveland compared to last year when the top spots were held by No. 1 New York City, No. 2 Los Angeles, No. 3 Seattle, No. 4 Low Value Shipments and No. 5 Anchorage. In the current time period, the top five accounted for 3.39 percent of Timor-Leste’s U.S. trade.. That compares to 221.33 percent for the nation’s top five Customs districts during the same time period.
