Monaghan_Corina_2_croppedCorina Muller Monaghan is the Vice President of the Political Risk Practice for Aon Risk Services  in New York, responsible for consulting with lenders, traders and corporations regarding political/economic risk management of their business in emerging markets. Her focus is on sectors including manufacturing, oil and gas, mining, finance and infrastructure. She is also responsible for coordinating “country audits,” providing political and macroeconomic risk analysis, insurance market negotiation and placement and product development. Previously  Corina was the Head of the political risk practice for COFACE North America, based in France and New York, and held international roles for Chubb Insurance during two separate periods.  Corina was also a Guarantee Officer, for the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency of the World Bank, and one of the original staff that started the organization.  A native of Brazil, Corina is fluent in English, Portuguese, Spanish and German. She earned a B.A. in Political Science and International Studies with a minor in German from Allegheny College, a Certificate in German Language from the Goethe Institut in Munich, Germany, and attended the Escolar Americana do Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.

 

FIU_JerryHaar_cropped__smallJerry Haar is Director of the Pino Global Entrepreneurship Center and Associate Dean and Professor in the College of Business Administration, Florida International University. He is also a non-resident research fellow at the Vale Columbia Center on International Sustainable Development at Columbia University. Formerly associated with North-South Center, University of Miami, he has held visiting appointments at Wharton, Harvard, Oxford, Stanford, and the American Enterprise Institute. He was also a research associate at Columbia University and a Fulbright Scholar at the Fundação Getúlio Vargas in Brazil. Dr. Haar served as Director of Washington Programs for the Council of the Americas, a New York-based business association of the leading multinational firms with business in Latin America and the Caribbean and has held several senior staff positions in policy and management with the federal government and served as Special Assistant to two cabinet secretaries. He received his B.A. cum laude from American University, master's degree from the Johns Hopkins University, and Ph.D. from Columbia University. Dr. Haar is also a graduate of Harvard University's Executive Program in Management and Health Finance. He has consulted for many companies from multinational enterprises to small family firms and has appeared in media such as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Financial Times (London), The Journal of Commerce, Bloomberg Business Week, Newsweek, CNN, the BBC, Fox Cable News, NBC, and CBS. A board member of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, Brazilian-American Chamber, Miami Finance Forum, and the Miami Symphony Orchestra, he is the author of 14 books, including Winning Strategies for the New Latin Markets, Can Latin America Compete? and Small Firms, Global Markets: Competitive Challenges in the New Economy. He is presently co-authoring a book entitled The Future of Entrepreneurship in Latin America.

John Price is the  Managing Director of Americas Market Intelligence (AMI). He has practiced market intelligence in Latin America for the last twenty years.  He founded InfoMex in 1992 which later became InfoAmericas with offices in SP, DF and Miami.  In 2007, InfoAmericas was sold to Kroll Associates and John founded Kroll’s Market Intelligence practice.  More recently, John launched AMI with offices in Miami and Mexico and an affiliation with GIA, the world’s leading competitive intelligence provider with 25 global offices.  Mr. Price is a strategic advisor to clients.  His teams of consultants provide competitive intelligence, market entry strategy, transactional market due diligence, and business risk analysis.  Mr. Price is a recognized thought leader in Latin America, as an author of more than 100 published articles on the region’s business environment and the co-author and co-editor of Can Latin America Compete, published by Palgrave in 2007.
