HEADHUNTER – Recruiter Dominique Virchaux recruited by Korn/Ferry
Korn/Ferry Internationals Miami office hired Dominique Virchaux as a senior partner and a member of the firms Global Consumer Market group. Dominque joins the firm from Virchaux & Partners, a Miami-based boutique executive search firm that he founded in 2003.
Dominque has over 20 years of executive search experience. He is listed in The Global 200 Executive Recruiters directory and recognized as one of the top search professionals worldwide, having conducted high-level assignments across multiple industries throughout the Americas. Dominque is a member of the Beacon Councils board and executive committee. He is also a founding board member of Florida FTAA and co-chair of the Inter-American Ethanol Committee. In addition, he is an executive committee member of the host committee of the 2008 Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) annual meeting to be held in Miami.
CONSULTING – Linda Angus joins Daylight Forensic
Daylight Forensic & Advisory, a New York-based fraud risk management and investigative consulting firm, appointed Linda Angus managing director of its Miami office. Linda has 20 years experience in investigation and advisory services in private sector and government.
Linda is a former director of KPMGs Forensic Practice in Atlanta. She also served as a revenue commissioner for New York Governor George Pataki, as well as county manager in various governments in Pennsylvania, New York, South Carolina and Georgia.
She has worked as an adjunct professor of accounting and business at both the graduate and undergraduate levels for several large universities in the U.S. and abroad. She has also done consulting assignments for governments, real estate firms and non-profits. In addition, Linda managed the restructure and reorganization of a major international airport facility and also worked with the federal government in its distribution and control of $8 billion in HUD disaster relief funds for Katrina victims.
BIZ SCHOOL – UofM School of Business taps Robert Benchley as communications head
Robert Benchley was appointed communications director at the University of Miamis School of Business. Robert has been editor of the schools BusinessMiami magazine since 2000.
In his new role, He will retain that responsibility, direct the content development of the schools new Web site and oversee all of the schools communications efforts, including e-newsletters, print collateral, public relations and event promotion. He will also work with dean Barbara Kahn, recently arrived from the University of Pennsylvanias Wharton School, on strategic communications initiatives, and serve as a communications resource for all of the schools programs.
REAL ESTATE – CBREs Ted Carter and Tina Moyerman promoted
CB Richard Ellis promoted Theodore (Ted) Carter to a new leadership position as executive managing director for CBREs Government and Public Sector Solutions (GPSS) business unit, with a focus on leveraging the breadth of CBREs platform for public sector and government
clients. Ted will continue to perform his current duties as senior managing director for CBRE in South Florida through the end of the year. Meanwhile, Tina Moyerman was promoted to marketing manager for South Florida. Tina will be based in Miami and will manage all marketing activities and communications for the four CB Richard Ellis offices in South Florida.
In his new role, Ted Carter will be based in Washington DC, but will have an Americas geographic focus. Prior to joining CBRE in October 2005, Ted served as President/CEO of the quasipublic National Capital Revitalization Corporation, a real estate development entity in Washington, D.C. From 1997-2000 he served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Management Operations at the United States Department of Treasury, where his responsibilities included leadership and oversight of the departments real estate, procurement and security-critical infrastructure portfolios, as well as financial and management oversight of the departments law enforcement bureaus. He has held senior staff positions in the mayoral administrations of Mayors David Dinkins and Rudolph Guliani in New York City, and Marion Barry and Anthony Williams in Washington, D.C.
Tina Moyerman joined CB Richard Ellis in 2005 as a marketing coordinator. In her new role, Ms. Moyerman will be responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of all marketing, communications and web service efforts, including: business development, marketing collateral, advertising, and internal and external communications for all of the companys lines of business, as well as supporting a 80+ person sales staff in South Florida. Tina succeeds Calum Weaver who served as the CBREs marketing director for Florida. Based in Miami, Calum will join the newly formed multi-family private investor team in South Florida, responsible for the sale and marketing of multi-family properties between 20 and 200 units.
BANKING – U.S. Century Bank taps Oscar Gomez to run new Global Banking Division
U.S. Century Bank announced the formation of its global banking division to offer clients international banking services, including correspondent banking, trade finance, wire transfers, global payment services and private services. Oscar Gomez, who has more than 25 years of experience in international banking, leads the new division.
Gomez was previously the executive vice president of global correspondent banking and international private banking with Regions Bank in Miami. Gomez also worked in the international divisions of Union Planters Bank and Capital Bank. U.S. Century Bank is one of the 10 largest community banks in Miami, with assets of $1.15 billion. It currently offers a wide range of financial products and services to business community from its 17 branch locations in South Florida.
LOGISTICS – FedEx Express Latin America names Steven VP of Sales and bolsters sales team
FedEx Express appointed Steven Goddard as vice president of sales for the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Division, reporting to Juan Cento. Goddard, a 16-year Fedex veteran, will be based in the companys LAC division headquarters in Miami. He held various sales director positions over the past nine years, in Mexico, Brazil and Argentina. Most recently, he led the Worldwide Sales International Overlay Team, driving international revenue growth.
To address exceptional growth in the region, FedEx Express LAC also named Anizia Barragan managing director of global sales. Formerly based in Mexico City, Barragan assumes responsibility for delivering results for the Latin America and Caribbean region through its Global Account Management program. Barragan leads the global account team throughout the region and the world, driving large customer solutions for FedEx Raul de La Rosa took over as managing director of sales in Mexico and relocated there from Miami to support the strategic growth of small and medium-size businesses, as well as the expansion of the FedEx cross-border strategy leveraging NAFTA.
In addition, Fedex appointed Suzanne Garber to the position of managing director of sales leadership in the South American Division. Garber relocated to Brazil from Miami. Barragan, De la Rosa and Garber will report directly to Mr. Goddard.
BANKING – Gregory Santn Joins The Bank of New York Mellon
Mario Trueba, President and CEO of the Florida operations of The Bank of New York Mellon appointment of Gregory Santn to the position of vice president for commercial real estate lending and business development. Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Santn had 13 years of commercial real estate experience, including Citigroups Florida commercial banking group, Citibank FSB.
