More than 200 business leaders attended the launch of WORLDCITYs South Florida Global Economic Impact Study January 17 at the Coral Gables Country Club. WORLDCITY president and CEO Ken Roberts opened the event. Publisher Ian McCluskey then presented a summary of the studys findings.

Frank Nero, president of the Miami-Dade Beacon Council, spoke about the key role that the studys findings will play in the promotion of South Florida as a global business center. Additional remarks by Baird Lobree, president of Auxis Consulting, were followed by a panel discussion that focused on need to develop a deeper understanding of multinational business community in order to better project South Floridas appeal and advantages as a business hub. Participating on the panel were Tom Cornish, president of Seitlin Insurance, Michael Diaz of Diaz, Reus, Rolff & Targ, Penny Shaffer, president for South Florida at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, Scott Sime, managing director of CB Richard Ellis and Allen Brenteson, corporate vice president of Baptist Health International.
