Discovery Networks Latin America is new sponsor

Discovery Networks Latin America/U.S. Hispanic is a new Corporate Sponsor of WorldCity’s Global Connections.

Discovery joins FIU’s Chapman Graduate School of Business, a sponsor since the monthly event series’ inception in 2001.

“Global Connections is a no-nonsense forum that brings together leaders from differing industry sectors to share and learn,” said Henry Martinez, executive vice president, Latin America for Discovery, in announcing the decision.

WorldCity’s Global Connections is held 10 times per year, focusing on topics of particular interest to South Florida’s international and multinational business community.

U.S. trade continues to rebound, but slowly

U.S. trade with the world has increased 24.23 percent this year over 2009 but remains 11.77 percent below the record-breaking numbers of 2008, according to WorldCity analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data released July 13.
