Newly-formed Motorola Solutions named Enrique Sobrino as human resources director for Latin America. He is based in South Florida.
Sobrino said his major challenges are to “integrate the culture of the new company after the split and consolidate the government and enterprise business in order to be more effective.”
Sobrino had been HR director for Latin America for software giant Microsoft, also based in South Florida. For Microsoft, he worked on varied initiatives including diversity and inclusion, cultural change, talent management and employee experience.
Before joining Microsoft, he was the South America HR Director with telecom company Alcatel-Lucent, where he helped with integrating talent during the company merger. He also has held HR positions with Procter & Gamble, Clorox, DIRECTV and CEMEX, supporting both regional and national operations in Latin America.
Sobrino earned a masters in business administration from the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores in Monterrey, Mexico and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico.
He lives in Weston with his wife and three children. To relax, he enjoys reading and cycling.
Motorola Solutions officially separated from Motorola Mobility in January. Based in Schaumburg, Ill., the solutions company employs about 23,000 people in more than 65 countries. Its units posted roughly $8 billion in revenues last year.
