He’ll report to Jim Berra, carnival’s chief marketing officer, and will be in charge of overseeing the company’s technology systems and leading its information technology organization.

Warner joined Carnival in 1986 as a financial systems programmer and analyst, and has held multiple information systems management positions since. He most recently served as vice president for strategic automation, a post he was named to in 2000.

Prior to joining Carnival, Warner spent four years in the U.S. Air Force stationed at Gunter Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama. He received a bachelor’s degree from Barry University.

He is credited with leading “the development of the Carnival’s next generation reservations and customer management systems, as well as helping to build industry leading travel agent and consumer facing online platforms,” according to a press release.

Carnival runs 23 ships operating three- to 16-day voyages to The Bahamas, the Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Alaska, Hawaii, Panama Canal, Canada, New England, Bermuda, Europe, the Pacific Islands and New Zealand.  The company launched the 130,000-ton Carnival Magic in Europe in early May 1 and plans to launch the new 130,000-ton Carnival Breeze, which will be based in Miami, in June 2012.
