Rafael Jaen Williamson
Chevron Manager of Government Affairs
Rafael Jaen Williamson, Chevron’s manager for Policy, Government and Public Affairs for Latin America, was honored for his professional achievements. Williamson works out of Chevron’s Coral Gables offices.
The Interamerican University of Panama, his alma mater, issues the Rectoral Medal annually to graduates who have achieved “extraordinary professional performance” and “notable service to the national and international community,” thereby “promoting the prestige of the university.”
Williamson has overseen Chevron “downstream” public affairs efforts in Latin America since 2006. Downstream refers to fuel sales as opposed to upstream or oil drilling and exploration. Williamson has been with the company for 25 years.
He received his MBA in Marketing from the Interamerican University in Panama after receiving his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from the Federal University in Uberlandia, Brazil.
