Chevron's Williamson oversaw Chevron's public policy efforts in Latin America before the promotion.

Chevron’s Rafael Jaen Williamson, regional manager for Latin America, Policy, Government and Public Affairs, has been promoted to a new position at company headquarters in California.

Williamson will essentially serve in a global managerial role facilitating the development of public and government affairs functional capabilities worldwide. The position is a new one for Chevron, and Williamson will be based in the company’s San Ramon, California headquarters. He will report to the vice president of Policy, Government and Public Affairs for Chevron, Rhonda Zygocki.

“This new job is a great opportunity for me and I am looking forward to it,” Williamson said.

Williamson joined Chevron through Texaco in 1981 in Panama and has held a series of positions before being promoted to the position he is now leaving, in 2006. He received his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Federal de Uberlandia, Brazil, and a MBA in Marketing from Universidad Interamericana de Panama in 2001.

U.S. trade continues to rebound, but slowly

U.S. trade with the world has increased 24.23 percent this year over 2009 but remains 11.77 percent below the record-breaking numbers of 2008, according to WorldCity analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data released July 13.
