Thirteen of Miami’s Top 25 trade partners are at record levels, according to WorldCity analysis of U.S. Census bureau data released today, July 13. Miami is one of just three Top 25 U.S. Customs districts running at a record level through the first five months of the year. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida Market President, South Florida
Penny Shaffer, Market President, South Florida, of Blue Cross Blue Shield, and a veteran of multinationals working in Latin America, will be one of four panelists at WorldCity’s next Global Connections event, Sept. 28.
The focus of the event will be health care in Latin America and the Caribbean, and will also feature Jim Hogan, vice president, Latin America for Medtronic; Carlos Alonso, president, Latin America, Baxter Export; and Al Merritt, founder, MD International.
Before joining Blue Cross in 2006, Shaffer served as AT&T’s Vice President of Global Services for the Americas region, which included Canada, the Caribbean and Latin America. Throughout her 26 years at AT&T, Penny held various positions including responsibilities in sales, service, quality management and global operations. Internationally, she has lived and worked in Dublin, Madrid, and Mexico City.
Global Connections is an event series for South Florida’s multinational community. It is sponsored by Florida International’s Chapman Graduate School of Business and Discovery Networks, U.S. Hispanic and Latin America.
