Aquirre Newman Director, Americas
Jorge Hurtado has been named the first director of the Americas for Aguirre Newman, a Spanish real estate concern that is entering the U.S. market by taking over CBRE’s Latin America operations.
Hurtado joins Aguirre Newman after a decade working with CBRE, the United States’ largest real estate firm. Hurtado and the 16-person staff that worked with CBRE Latin America all now work for Aguirre Newman.
Aguirre Newman is headquartered in Madrid, with more than 80 offices there, and has another 19 in the Barcelona area. The privately held company, founded in 1998, has about 400 employees, inclduing the employees in Miami as well as those in Portugal. It also has a representative office in Berlin.
“Our mandate is to service the Americas market focusing on servicing Spanish companies,” Hurtado said of the Miami operation, whose offices are on Brickell Avenue.
CBRE, a public Fortune 500 company, is the world’s largest real estate firm, with more than 30,000 employees. It is based in Los Angeles.
