Broward County’s seaport Port Everglades posted record revenue for the quarter ended Dec. 31: $37.5 million, up 22 percent from the peak three years earlier before the global recession.

Spurring growth was rising cruise traffic at the Fort Lauderdale seaport, up 25 percent for the quarter from a year earlier to a record 1.17 million passengers. That’s partly because of sailings from the port by the world’s two largest cruise ships, the Allure of the Seas and Oasis of the Seas, said Port Director Phil Allen in a statement.
