The Sao Paulo-based company already does business in six continents, posts sales of roughly $1 billion a year and employs more than 6,000 people worldwide, a statement said.
“The timing is ideal for Itautec to enter the U.S market,” Marcio Welman Dvorkin, America general manager, said in the statement. With the U.S. network aging, “financial institutions are seeking new, multi-function ATMs,” he said.
In addition, the Brazil-made ATMs comply with 2010 Americans with Disabilities Act requirements, which U.S. banks must meet within a year, said Welman Dvorkin.
Itautec’s machines already are used by the world’s 10th largest bank, Brazil’s Itau-Unibanco. They also have been deployed elsewhere in South America, North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa since the company began in 1979.
Itautec will debut a prototype of its Adattis Intelligent Deposit ATM on Feb. 22 at the 2011 ATM Industry Association conference to be held at the Doral Resort and Spa.
