Meet our speakers
With 18 years of experience in multi-renewable energy systems and smart grid technology for smart cities and island energy networks, Andrea Kraj has delivered a TEDx talk, “Smart Cities Begin With You,” and is the President & CEO of CORE Renewable Energy Inc., a company that specializes in intelligent energy planning and operations management for power projects incorporating multi-renewable energy systems. Andrea holds a Ph.D in Renewable Energy & Mechanical Engineering, a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering focusing on Wind Energy & Cold Climates and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with Aerospace Specialty from the University of Manitoba in Canada.
Daniel Price is the CEO of Breadware, a company with a mission to increase access to, and reduce risk of, building connected products. An industry expert in Internet of Things, Daniel has given TEDx talks and addresses at numerous national conferences. He holds an MBA and Master’s in Biomedical Engineering from Oxford University as well as a Bachelor’s in Bio-engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California with a minor in Physics.
Jan Nijman is the founding director of the Urban Studies Institute at Georgia State University. He is professor Emeritus at the University of Miami and holds a professorship at the University of Amsterdam. Jan is the author of six books and more than 100 other publications on urban studies. His professional honors include the Nystrom Prize, the J.B. Jackson Book Award, and a Guggenheim Fellowship.
Haven Baker is the Co-founder and Chief Business Officer of Pairwise, focused on exploring ways to use gene editing and leveraging the natural diversity in crops to address global food challenges. Haven holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Northeastern University, an MBA from Harvard Business School as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Yale University.
