Meet our speakers:
Alan Brill, a New York-based Senior Managing Director at Kroll, founded its cyber practice. He consults on strategic technology issues and serves as an expert on complex cyber-related litigation. Brill is an adjunct professor at Texas A&M University’s School of Law and a founding fellow of the Digital and Multimedia Sciences Section of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. Brill earned his bachelor’s in Psychology and Master’s in System Management from New York University. He is also author or co-author of a dozen books and more than 100 articles.
Erich de la Fuente is Partner and Chairman U.S. at Llorente & Cuenca, a Spanish communications and public affairs consulting firm. There, he provides strategic counsel to the firm’s clients and leads public speaking and media training for high-level executives. Prior to joining Llorente & Cuenca, de la Fuente founded EDF Communications, an international consulting firm focused on providing services to organizations operating in the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, Eastern Europe, Eurasia and the Middle East. Prior to founding his own firm, he was Vice President for the Latin America Region at Edelman Worldwide and Manager for the Latin America Region at Burson-Marsteller in 1996. De la Fuente has a bachelor’s degree from Florida International University, a Master’s degree from Georgetown University and a doctoral degree from Maastricht University.
John Young is Regional Security Manager for Latin America at Microsoft. He is responsible for the security of 4,000 employees assigned to Microsoft locations in 22 countries in South America, Central America, the Caribbean, Mexico and Puerto Rico. Prior to joining Microsoft, Young was a Special Agent for the Department of State, where he managed security programs at U.S. embassies and Consulates in Peru, Israel, Nepal, Haiti, Bolivia, Iraq and Spain. Young graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and served on active and reserve duty for the U.S. Coast Guard.
